Amy BuringAssistant Controller
Hello! My name is Amy Buring. As a self-professed geek, who is always humming a classic rock tune, I am thrilled that a life of natural curiosity, tenacity, and a love of learning has brought me to AEOU. I hope to add my creative flair to the Assistant Controller role. My journey here began with a BA in elementary and early childhood education from Kutztown University, a Master of Administration from the University of South Carolina, as well as K-12 classroom experience. It eventually led me to an entrepreneurial path and more than twenty years as the accounting and HR maestro of a structured cabling and IT company built from infancy to sale. Having this unique dual perspective, along with a lifelong devotion to the arts and their incredible power to encourage divergent thinking, only adds to my excitement to support educators providing the gift of art and artistic thinking to our children every day.
When I’m not merging form and function while crunching numbers, streamlining procedures, and color-coding spreadsheets, I’m making memories with my husband and our ever-growing family, playing with my dogs, Penny Lane and Eleanor Rigby, or doing needle crafts, baking, and kayaking.
