Diana Baldensperger

Adjunct Instructor

Hi there! I am Diana Baldensperger, and I am passionate about designing instruction that is engaging, thought-provoking, and challenging to learners of all levels and abilities. I currently teach elementary art to K-5 students while also serving as an adjunct professor at Wayne State University, located in the heart of Detroit, Michigan.

I have 20 years of experience designing curriculum and teaching art to students at the elementary, secondary, and collegiate levels. I earned a B.F.A. from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania (1994), K-12 art teacher certification from Eastern Michigan (1997), and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania (2002). In addition, I completed a Bachelor of English degree at Baker College (2012), while concurrently writing and defending my doctoral dissertation in Educational Leadership with a focus on Brain/Mind Learning and Creativity Studies (Walden University, 2014). I am an Associate of the Brain/Mind Learning Center (Idyllwild, CA) and hold NSDC certification in Instructional and Cognitive Coaching. I enjoy working with diverse learners and specialize in curriculum development and creativity studies.

When I am not reading and researching, you will find me in the bleachers with my husband cheering on our two teenage children at a variety of sporting events year round. I also love to run, draw, journal, paint, and volunteer at our local animal shelter. I am excited to be a part of this enthusiastic and motivated team of art professionals at AOE!
