Emily Nelson

Hello! My name is Emily Nelson, and I am honored to join AOEU as a School Success Manager! For the past 15 years, I have taught K-AP visual arts and have worked as a district specialist and administrator. I am passionate about learning and am thrilled to have the privilege of walking side by side with art teachers on their unique journeys of growth. I deeply believe that art has the power to change lives—to be a win for students or a place where they feel free to be themselves. Knowing I can help teachers make that place the best it can be is a beautiful thing!

In my home life, I love traveling with my husband and two children, cooking, making art, and having dance parties in the kitchen. Watching them grow and experience all the facets of life is a beautiful gift that inspires me to continue to grow. Good food, music, and art are part of my love language and I am in my happy place when I’m sitting around an outdoor table sharing with the people that I love.
