Assessment in Art Education

Discover the difference between the assessment of learning and the assessment for learning while creating culturally responsive assessments and applying data to advocate for all students.

Assessments fuel the ability to evaluate and enhance artistic development by gauging student learning and progress. Participants will master the difference between the assessment of learning and the assessment for learning. In this course, you will evaluate and design culturally responsive assessments, data visualization, and rubric designs to empower students in the art room. This course will equip art educators to sustainably apply data to advocate for students, resulting in stronger learning outcomes. Participants will use their current lesson plans to create new, effective assessment strategies for immediate application in their art classrooms.
