FAEA: Current Topics in Art Education

In this self-directed, three-week course, attend FAEA’s 2024 conference to examine your classroom practice and teaching philosophy. Reflect on your experiences and apply new insights to enhance your professional growth.

“Meaningful professional development involves opportunities for teachers to reflect critically on their practice, question their beliefs about teaching and learning, and bring new ideas and practices into the classroom (Darling-Hammond & McLaughlin, 1995, as cited in, Lind, 2007, p. 2) In this self-directed, three-week course participants will attend FAEA’s 2024 Annual Conference, Ignite Imagination: Reveal the Fantastical with a focus on self-examination of classroom practice and teaching philosophy. Participants will reflect on their experience by applying learning in their professional practice and through personal reflection.

Required Materials

  • Computer with basic audio and video input and output equipment
  • Internet access (broadband recommended)
  • Basic computing skills (see AOEU’s Technology Requirements)
  • Access to AOEU’s online learning platform, Brightspace, to view course content, submit assignments, and engage in discussion (provided)
  • A Google Drive account (provided)
  • Word-processing platform (Microsoft Office, Pages, Google Docs)
