3 Credits|8 Weeks|$1275

This studio course requires hands-on artmaking and the exploration of new teaching methodologies. Participants will build familiarity with various wheel-throwing techniques, modification of thrown forms, and surface treatments while learning to translate these methods for classroom application. Wheel-throwing instruction will focus on foundational techniques such as centering, pulling, and shaping, allowing students to create functional and sculptural forms.

In addition to studio practice, participants will engage in real-world classroom scenarios, troubleshooting challenges like supply management, studio procedures, and common challenges in wheel-thrown forms. The course will prepare educators to effectively incorporate wheel-thrown projects that inspire creativity and skill-building into their ceramics curriculum.
