Transform your teaching with vibrant textile techniques—master dyeing, printing, and embelishments to inspire creativity in every classroom!

3 Credits|8 Weeks|$1275

In this studio course, students will explore a variety of textile surface design techniques, gaining hands-on experience with immersion dyeing, resist dyeing, and an array of surface applications such as printing, stamping, stenciling, image transfer, and soft sculpture. Participants will delve into traditional and contemporary approaches to these processes, developing a deep understanding of how color, texture, and pattern can be manipulated to create visually striking textiles and three-dimensional forms.

This course will focus on practical K–12 classroom applications, equipping educators with the skills to adapt these techniques for student projects across grade levels. By the end of the course, students will have created a portfolio of textile samples and soft sculptures while gaining the confidence to integrate these surface design and fiber art techniques into their own practice and teaching.
