FLEX Curriculum is overseen by the University’s Chief Academic Officer and the Director of K-12 Curriculum. Certified art teacher contributors who work with us are provided a solid student-centered, backward -design framework and key instructional design resources to build lessons made to engage students with art at every level. The curriculum materials are then reviewed by veteran art teachers and Art Standards Managers against a stringent rubric to ensure academic rigor, research connections, standards alignment, student engagement levels, and relevance.
The Art of Education University strongly believes in the value of third-party review to maintain an unbiased eye on the quality and impact of our curriculum on student learning. What would the curriculum be without a systematic approach to the assessment of it? The best experts to fill this role are the thousands of art teachers who use FLEX and who measure their students’ growth and learning. Art teacher feedback from around the world is used as part of a continuous loop of improvement. Quarterly, their feedback is reviewed and implemented as part of our assessment cycle.
Practicing art teachers from all over the world contribute to the creation of FLEX curriculum materials in collaboration with The Art of Education University. This development ensures FLEX Curriculum is unique, diverse, and fits the needs of all art teachers.
