Description

Students will analyze the artistic style of Jean-Michel Basquiat. They will create a cardboard sculpture using color, line, shape, space, emphasis, and symbolism inspired by Baquiat.

Steps

Convey Identity Through Sketches

Observe and analyze the artistic style of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Experiment using a variety of colors, shapes, lines, and symbols to convey identity. Choose four symbols and a color scheme for the design. Select a design to create when the sketches are complete.
