Collaborative Cardboard Aquarium

Lesson Plan

Description

Students will research ocean biology and select a favorite ocean creature and habitat to sculpt using cardboard and fishing line. Students will collaborate with their classmates to create a cardboard representation of an aquarium, utilizing goal-setting and evaluative criteria.

  • Pencil
  • Cardboard rectangles (4″x 28″ scored at 6″,14″, and 20″)
  • Scrap cardboard of varying weights
  • Tempera paint, brushes, water cup
  • Glue and scissors
  • Masking tape
  • Fishing line and needle
