Description

Students will learn basic sewing techniques to construct a drawstring bag. Students will learn a variety of hand-sewing stitches as they add designs with felt. Students will personalize bags by adding embroidery and applique designs.

Steps

Plan the Bag

Select color and size for the bag. Fold the top of the fabric down ½ “ to 1” to insert a drawstring. Brainstorm images for bag design. Use basic shapes to sketch a design on the same size of paper as the bag.
