Description

Students will focus on rhythm to create an action painting using dish soap, spray paint, and unconventional tools. Students will discuss, understand, and utilize contrast and rhythm in this work.

Students will identify and create a mini-study of analogous colors.

Students will create an “action painting” by applying paint with emphasis similar fashion to Pollock.

  • Sketch book
  • Oil pastels
  • Canvas, canvas board, wood, or durable painting surface
  • Acrylic paint and large paint brushes
  • Black spray paint
  • Dish soap and bowl
  • Spoon (or other found objects to drip paint from)
  • Outside hose or large sink with running water
