Students will search for lines around the classroom and then draw as many lines as they can. Students will use a variety of cut paper strips and glue to create a line design hat and wear the hats for a fashion show following a critique.
Areas of Study
Students will find and observe basic lines in the environment around them.
Students will explore a variety of lines and paper sculpting techniques to create a line design hat.
Students will evaluate, prepare, and display their artwork.
Facilitate a discussion about and a scavenger hunt for basic lines. Facilitate a discussion of different types of lines and how to create those lines. Demonstrate creating in 3D with a variety of paper-sculpting techniques. Assist and guide students in the evaluation, preparation, and display of their artwork.
