Description

Students will create found object sculptures using modeling clay and objects from everyday life such as sticks, bottle caps, straws, acorns, pinecones, and stones.

Students will describe how artists communicate their ideas about everyday objects.

Students will go on an exploratory walk to find objects that could be used in a sculpture.

Students will identify and classify found objects.

Introduce the artist Claes Oldenburg and guide a discussion about what they are trying to communicate.
Lead students on a walk to find small objects for sculptures.
Facilitate creating a list to identify and classify found objects.
