Description
Students will learn about monochromatic colors and how to create tints, tones, and shades. Using a digital application, students will explore the palette and an animal using monochromatic colors. Students will evaluate their art and create a plan to present the art digitally.

Students will examine monochromatic colors and how to create tints, tones, and shades.
Students will research and create a portrait of an animal of their choice.
Students will experiment with the tools in the drawing and create custom colors.
Teaching Strategies
- Explain monochromatic colors and how tones, tints, and shades are created.
- Discuss the variety of animals that can be used for artwork inspiration and how to research them safely.
- Model how to simplify the face of an animal to basic shapes and create a composition.
- Demonstrate the digital drawing application and tools.
