Students will explore monochromatic color mixing through the creation of a graffiti-style name composition. They will write an artist statement reflecting on how color was used to convey emotion in the artwork.

Sketch & Outline the Name

Research graffiti art and the types of text/font typically used in graffiti tags. Sketch a name using a pencil. Create letters that contain negative space. Use the graffiti alphabet resource for inspiration, if needed. Trace the design with a marker.
