Monotyping With Stencils

Lesson Plan

Description

Students will select an individual and sketch an imaginary place for them to visit. They will choose four colors for the landscape and use a lightbox to make corresponding stencils. Using the stencils as masks on a gelatin printing plate, they will create a monotype.

Select a Subject

Choose a person to consider while designing a vacation location. Think about the person’s interests and needs and match them to the location. Brainstorm specific aspects of the location which might appeal to the selected individual. Discuss initial ideas with peers.
