Description
Students will create a drawing of a paper column inspired by Greek architecture and mythology. They will choose one column style and add imagery and symbols inspired by a character from Greek mythology.

Students will explore Greek architecture and mythology and how the artwork informed beliefs, values, or behaviors.
Students will choose a column from Greek architecture to redesign.
Students will identify visual imagery found in Greek mythology.
Teaching Strategies
- Facilitate a discussion on the different types of columns found in Greek architecture.
- Introduce the concept of symmetry and demonstrate how to create a symmetrical column by folding the paper in half.
- Introduce Greek mythology, main characters, and epic stories.
- Discuss how ancient Greek artwork was used to inform beliefs, values, or behaviors.
