Paper Mache Play

Lesson Plan

Description

Students will learn about sustainability and the effects of waste on animals. Students will apply their understanding by creating a play and using recycled materials and paper mache to construct the characters’ masks. Students will perform the play and reflect on their masks.

Read The Lorax by Dr. Seuss, and discuss how trash impacts the Earth. Read a book about animals, such as Annie and the Wild Animals by Jan Brett. Consider connections between the two books and discuss how trash impacts animals.
