Description
Students will research and discuss the historical context of political posters. Students will explore social issues and analyze how these can change over time. Using acrylic paint and cardboard, students will design a poster that supports social change.

Students will research and discuss political posters.
Students will explore and analyze past and present social issues and how change has occurred and will occur over time.
Students will brainstorm and select a current social issue as the subject for poster creation.
Teaching Strategies
- Introduce and dissect the art of political posters and the artists who created them.
- Discuss past and present social issues, locally and abroad, and how they have changed over time.
- Explain the brainstorming process and how to finalize and select a topic.
- Explain the importance of a developed catchphrase and how lettering can strengthen or weaken the message.
