Students will interpret the work of printmakers and describe how their prints advocate for change. They will create an edition of at least three relief prints featuring symbols for social change and write an accompanying artist statement.
Discuss the life and work of contemporary and historical printmakers who address social issues in their work.
Identify the artists’ use of contrast and composition and how they impact the message and meaning in the work.
Discuss how these works can influence the viewer.
