Description

Students will study the Fauves movement and create an analogous or monochromatic still life using stylized simplified shapes inspired by Fauvism.

Students will stylize shaped objects into simpler shapes and discuss how this change impacts emotion/mood/aesthetics.

Students will use three organic shapes and five geometric shapes while stylizing everyday objects.

Students will discuss the artwork of the Fauves, in art history.

Sketch

Choose a photo or still life as inspiration for an object, a group of objects, animals, etc. Break down shapes of objects in sketchbook as a warm-up. Label/associate a feeling/mood to the shapes.
