This lesson has become one of my keepers, a lesson that I repeat every year. Besides being highly motivating for students, it is an awesome tie in to the social studies curriculum at my school. I present this lesson after students have already studied Ancient Egypt in their classrooms, so they come in with a lot of background knowledge. Cross-curricular projects are one of my favorite ways to get students excited about learning. If you’d like to learn more about implementing cross-curricular planning, check out “A Short Guide to Cross Curricular Planning.”
