Level: Middle School Art Education Lesson Plan
Art Elements: Shape, Color
Art Skills: Collage, Mixed-Media
Art History: Architecture
Do you live in a city with an amazing skyline? Do you have some great public sculptures in your town? Do you want to help your students develop an appreciation for where they live? If you answered yes to any of these questions, give this lesson a try! The transfer process is a fun, new experience that will wow your students. However, be sure you’re using a toner-based printer like a laser printer or copy machine, or the process won’t work.
Throughout this project, students will work with a piece of local architecture or public art. To take things a step further, have each student research and write a one-paragraph summary about their chosen subject to share with the class.
