Students will be inspired to create their own monsters after reading Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak or another monster book of your choosing. These lovable creatures are always a favorite that students can’t wait to take home. Have students write a little about their monsters to pull in even more cross-curricular connections! This lesson would make a great follow-up to the Pattern Monster lesson seen here.
