Why Every Art Room Needs a Chill Out Chair

When I was a first-year art teacher, I noticed a lot of teachers had an area in their classroom where they would send students who were being disruptive or causing a problem. This area was often referred to as a “safe seat.” I didn’t really like that term, but I did see the merits of a separate area in the art room.
