Andrea Fort, Ed.D.
Adjunct Instructor
I am an educator, scholar, and curriculum designer who believes deeply in the power of art education to build creative thinkers, resilient learners, and adaptable problem solvers. My professional background spans K-12 education at all levels, higher education, and corporate training, giving me a unique perspective on how learning transfers across classrooms, organizations, and real-world contexts.
My experience in corporate training informs my approach to art education as a vehicle for developing essential 21st-century skills, including creative problem solving, collaboration, time management, and growth mindset. I am particularly interested in how studio-based learning naturally supports skills that employers, schools, and communities value, and how art educators can intentionally name, assess, and advocate for this work.
My academic research focuses the ways that art education can increase overall educational efficacy across content areas. At The Art of Education University, I am passionate about supporting educators as they design meaningful, accessible learning experiences, integrate the arts across disciplines, and confidently articulate the value of art education in today’s educational landscape.
When I am not teaching, I spend time in Houston, Texas watching my daughter pitch softball, creating ceramics in my garage studio, and playing the many instruments that fill my house.
