Ashleigh Wink, MFA
Adjunct Instructor
Hello! My name is Ashleigh Wink, and I am an interdisciplinary artist and art educator from Baltimore, MD. I have been an Adjunct Instructor at AOEU since 2019, and I specialize in Studio courses, such as Studio: Painting – Watercolor, Studio: Painting – Tempera & Acrylic, and Studio: Drawing. Prior to teaching at AOEU, I was an art teacher for five years. I have taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels with experience building and teaching Advanced Placement (AP) art curricula.
In 2019, I earned a Master of Fine Arts in studio art at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where my studies focused on interdisciplinary artmaking and critical theory. I also hold a Master of Arts in teaching (art education) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and a Bachelor of Arts in art + design from Towson University.
I am a licensed K–12 art educator through the Maryland State Department of Education. I earned a Certificate in the College Teaching of Art upon completing my MFA at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
In addition to my career as an art educator, I maintain an active studio practice that utilizes painting, drawing, photography, and installation to investigate themes of perception, temporality, and impermanence.
When I am not teaching or making art, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time at home with my husband and our two children.
