Christian Funderburk, MFA
Adjunct Instructor
My name is Christian Funderburk, and I am currently a K-5 art teacher in Houston, Texas. I have over fifteen years of experience teaching kindergarten through twelfth-grade art and high school digital photography. I also have experience as an undergraduate and graduate-level photography adjunct instructor at Mississippi College. I am a USA Cheer certified cheerleading coach as well. I received my Bachelor of Art with a concentration in painting and black and white photography from Belhaven University in 2003, where I was also a cheerleader. I attended Mississippi College from 2003-2006, where I received a Master of Education in Art and MFA with a specialty in 2D work. After getting married in 2009, I moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where I taught art and was a varsity high school cheerleading coach, winning several state high school championships.
For my own art, I vary in media and subject matter. Lately, I have been focusing on large-scale architectural pencil drawings, but I love watercolor painting and photography. I love to travel and spend time with friends and family. I hope to one day travel back to France to spend more time in the Louvre.
