Jessica McElhaney

Adjunct Instructor

Greetings! My name is Jessica McElhaney, and I am an educator and artist from Warren, Pennsylvania. I am thrilled to be part of the AOEU team and share my passion for art education. The creative process has always played a vital role in my artistic teaching and learning to embrace, explore, and share it with others inside and outside the classroom. Another artist, an educator, once told me to “Always Keep Seeing,” and remember that spark of creativity that drives your passion for learning, artmaking, and the creative process.

I have fourteen years of experience teaching kindergarten through twelfth-grade Art Education and currently teach art and computer technology courses for a public-school K–12 campus. I take pride in being part of my school community as a yearbook advisor for the past thirteen years, and I hold a leadership role as a curriculum coordinator for the Computer Technology Department. I received my higher education training from Edinboro University in Art Education and Graphic Design and went on to further my knowledge in the field of Art Education by obtaining my Master of Arts degree. In addition, I enjoy being part of the local art community, and I served as a board member at our local art gallery, where I am still a member to this day.

Photography and Digital Design are two of my favorite mediums. I appreciate capturing precious memories and the world around me and also utilizing my meticulous attention to detail when positioning lettering and typefaces on a design.

While I thoroughly enjoy sharing my passion for art education, design, and photography, I love spending time with my husband, three boys, and our German Shepherd. We enjoy camping, fishing, and pretty much any outdoor activity.
