Kelly Hatton
K-12 Curriculum Designer
I’m Kelly Hatton from Memphis, Tennessee. Before joining AOEU, I worked first as an elementary art educator and then as the district arts administrator for a large urban school district. I have been following AOE since it started as a blog, experiencing first-hand what a valuable asset it is for art teachers. After advocating for funds to bring PRO and FLEX to the nearly 200 art teachers in our district, I’m so excited to now be a part of the creative team behind these products. As a true curriculum and instruction nerd, I love sharing about new artists, lesson ideas, and resources with the potential to impact art education all over the country. I am also active on the Tennessee Art Education Association board and was selected for the 2021 class of NAEA’s School for Art Leaders.
Beyond work life, I share my love of the arts and nature with my young daughter. We enjoy hiking and camping, visiting museums, and making art together. My current creative outlet is curating my home and cataloging dozens of old film negatives from my art school days. I like to stay mentally and physically well by practicing yoga, running, and strength training.
