Hi, I’m Melissa. I bring more than 20 years of experience across the nonprofit and edtech sectors to my work at The Art of Education. I’ve spent my career helping mission-driven organizations grow their impact and build high-performing teams, grounded in purpose and people.

I was drawn to AOE because of its unwavering commitment to educators and its belief in the transformative power of learning. Supporting teachers in meaningful, practical ways has been a through-line in my career, and I’m excited to bring my experience in service of art educators.

I hold a BA from Michigan State University and am a certified leadership development coach. I live in Santa Cruz, California, and serve on the local board of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Outside of work, I’m a lifelong learner with an adventurous spirit and a deep love for the outdoors. You’ll often find me hiking, biking, playing pickleball, or exploring new places, usually with my dog happily along for the ride.
