About the Author

Jessica Madenford

Hello, I’m Jess, a seasoned K-12 visual arts instructor, department leader, and multifaceted creative who loves dreaming big and relishes in the process of bringing those dreams to life. My journey with AOEU began when a course pamphlet found its way to my school mailbox. Since then, I’ve become an AOEU podcast junkie, avid Magazine reader, graduate, Student Ambassador, and all-around learning nerd. My experience with this university has been transformational, both inside and outside of the classroom, and I’m excited to add value to the lives of others as AOEU has done for me.

When I’m not geeking out on art education stuff, I am blogging (find me at thejourneytohere.net and on Instagram @jessica.journeytohere), walking in nature listening to my favorite podcasts and audiobooks, avoiding cooking, creating art, belting out alto harmonies, loving on my children, and helping my husband raise our children bilingually.

Professional Achievements:
Experience, 20+ years in teaching and leadership positions
Master of Art in Education, The Art of Education University (2021)
Master of Education, Gratz College (2020)
Bachelor of Arts, Lycoming College (2003)
