About the Author

Wynita Harmon

Dr. Wynita Harmon proudly serves as an associate professor and instructional coach for the Art of Education University. She has over thirteen years of K-12 experience in the Title I classroom, where her approach focused on choice-based art education. While in the classroom, Dr. Harmon worked to promote equity and provide her students with diverse experiences from a leadership role to support her campus team and the art teachers within her district. She holds a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Dallas Baptist University, a master’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, and a Bachelor’s in Art Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. As an advocate for choice-based art education and student equity, Dr. Harmon has presented in various capacities on student choice, equity, and cultural awareness. She actively seeks opportunities to support the arts and promote change within the field. She has a true passion for teaching and thoroughly enjoys working with her students and the AOEU team.
