Shannon LaufferHead of Student Services & Admissions
Shannon’s passion lies where creative expression in art education collides with meeting the needs of all learners. After teaching art for several years in therapeutic schools to students with emotional and behavioral disabilities, she earned a Master’s certification from Kean University in 2011 in Special Education. Shannon then taught art education and special education and was trained in ABA. Lauffer found the experience working in a self-contained classroom with students with autism both fascinating and incredibly rewarding and completed her Master of Arts in Teaching from Morningside College in 2015. She has worked with learners preschool-aged through adult and is devoted to developing strategies and interventions that provide creative outlets for students of all abilities in the art room.
Shannon began her journey with The Art of Education University as a student. She joined the team in 2016 as an instructor, and now works full-time with the institution. As the Head of Admissions and Student Services, she is dedicated to shaping the future of professional learning to art educators.BACK to our team
