About the Author

Abby Schukei

My name is Abby Schukei, and I currently teach 7th and 8th-grade art in Omaha, Nebraska. I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2012 and have experience teaching in the K-12 setting ever since. In my classroom, I focus on creating meaningful experiences for my students by constructing from the world around us. Technology integration, computational thinking skills, and innovation play a huge role in the way I shape my classroom. Each day I strive to create, explore, and discover significant experiences that will go beyond the art room walls. When not teaching art, I love exploring the great outdoors, making art, and tie-dying. I love being part of the AOEU team, as there is nothing better than working with art teachers and helping provide ways for them to grow!

Professional Achievements:

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Bachelor’s Degree (2012)

University of Nebraska-Kearney Master’s Degree (2015)

The Art of Education University Master’s Degree (2020)
