Janelle Turk, MA
Adjunct Instructor
I am a visual artist. I have been blessed to be able to do what I love my entire life; create art.
I am an art educator. I have been lucky enough to share my knowledge and experience in the visual arts for over 15 years in various K-12 grade levels and at a local community college. My goal is to help uplift others through creative inquiry and provide support as they achieve their educational and personal goals. I am very excited to be a part of the AOEU team, as their vision aligns nicely with my own.
I wear two hats, but ultimately they are one and the same. You can’t be a creative person without learning from others, and you can’t create without a community with whom to share ideas. Artists, and the communities of which they are a part, grow through collaboration.
I consider myself a lifelong learner. I thrive in settings where I find myself surrounded by others who are intrinsically driven, think outside the box, and are willing to take creative risks.
I hold a Master of Arts degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I also traveled as an exchange student to Slovenia where I attended the Academy of Fine Arts, a division of the University of Ljubljana. I have one publication through Art Education, published in November of 2012 titled, Collaboration, Inclusion, and Empowerment; A Life Skills Mural.
