About the Author

Amanda Ritter

Amanda holds a bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Penn State University and is working on her Master of Art Education from Millersville University. She has taught art at the high school level in both public and private school settings from 2006 to 2018. During her role as a high school art teacher, she moderated her school’s National Art Honor Society and taught many levels of art and design, including AP Studio Art and AP Art History classes. Her students have been accepted into some of the most prestigious art schools in the country, and, in conjunction with collaborating with working artists, have exhibited their work in the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She values involving her students with their community and using their art to connect and serve. In addition to this, she has taught continuing education art classes to adults in college-level settings, as well as art camps to middle school and elementary-aged children.

Amanda is currently on hiatus from teaching in the classroom but is planning on returning soon. In the meantime, she enjoys working for and learning from AOEU, chasing after her two-year-old son, traveling, hiking, immersing herself in the Adobe Creative Suite, snuggling with her cats, and volunteering at her local animal shelter.
