About the Author

Rachel Hallquist

Dr. Rachel Hallquist is a National Board Certified teacher with over seventeen years of experience teaching art and mentoring teachers in a variety of K-12 settings. Rachel earned a doctorate from Arizona State University, a master’s in art education from the Maryland Institute College of Art, a master’s in educational leadership from UC Berkley, and a bachelor’s of art in sculpture with an emphasis in art education from San Francisco State University.

Rachel lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she is also a practicing artist and creativity coach. Her studio background is in drawing, painting, and sculpture. When not teaching, Rachel is making art, often with her favorite artist, her 11-year-old daughter, or on a beach somewhere on the California coast.
