About the Author

Rebekah Hower

I discovered AOEU in 2015 when I began my first year teaching art part-time in Virginia. I began by reading the magazine and listening to the podcasts. In 2019 I started my graduate degree with AOEU and finished in 2021. The courses have greatly shaped the way I run my current classroom and curriculum. I continue to read their magazine and use FLEX curriculum currently. AOEU was a tremendous support when I was starting from scratch, and now that I am perfecting my teaching style.

I teach middle school in North Carolina. I enjoy hiking outside, making pottery, and painting. When I’m not in the classroom, you can find me hanging out with my husband and dog.

Professional Accomplishments:

Master of Arts in art education, The Art of Education University

Bachelor of Science in Education in Art Education, Millersville University
